Investing in community

The Swan Valley Communities that Care Board (SVCTC) is excited to announce that they have been selected to receive a Manitoba Community Service Council (MCSC) grant in the amount of $15,000 to help implement parent workshop parenting classes and school based programming in the Swan Valley area.

“MCSC allocates grants to non-profit, volunteer community service, social service, recreation, and health-related organizations in Manitoba,” said SVCTC Coordinator Beverley Polon. “The SVCTC board  implemented the Communities That Care (CTC) process to help achieve the community's vision for “safe, healthy children and youth through an involved and committed community”.

“The CTC process seeks to reduce problem behaviours and promote positive youth development by addressing risk factors present in the community that have been shown to increase the likelihood that children will become involved in problem behaviours in adolescence.”
